2. How We Use Your Information

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Operating the Platform: creating and managing your account, processing and displaying listings, facilitating communications between users, and delivering the features and functionality you use

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data only when we have a lawful basis under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or applicable national laws. Our lawful bases include:

  • Contractual necessity: processing required to create and manage your account, display your listings, and otherwise perform our obligations under our Terms of Use
  • Legitimate interests: analytics, fraud prevention, security, and platform improvement, where those interests are not overridden by your rights
  • Legal obligation: compliance with applicable laws and legal process
  • Consent: sending marketing communications (you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal)

4. How We Share Your Information

We may share your personal information in the following circumstances, including with advertising partners as described in Section 4F below. You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information — see Section 11 for how.

A. With Other Users

When you post a listing, your listing content (including property details, photos, and the name and general location associated with your profile) is visible to all Platform visitors. When you initiate a message with another user, your name, profile photo, and message content are shared with that user. Your direct contact information (phone number, email) is shared only if you choose to disclose it in your messages.

B. With Service Providers

We share personal information with third-party service providers who help us operate the Platform. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only to provide services to us and to maintain appropriate security measures. Our key service providers include:

  • Cloudflare: cloud infrastructure, CDN, and security services, including storage of uploaded listing photographs and other media
  • Resend: transactional email delivery (listing status notifications, password resets, account notifications)
  • Google and Apple: OAuth authentication services (when you choose to sign in with Google or Apple)
  • Database and hosting providers: for storing and managing your account and listing data
  • Analytics providers: for understanding how the Platform is used (typically using de-identified or aggregated data)

C. As Required by Law

We may disclose your information to law enforcement agencies, courts, regulators, or other government authorities when required to do so by law, legal process, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of Friedum™, our users, or the public.

D. In Connection with Business Transfers

If Friedum™ is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, financing, or other corporate transaction, your personal information may be transferred to the successor entity. We will notify you (by email and/or a notice on the Platform) of any such change in ownership and the choices you may have regarding your personal information. Any successor will be bound to honor commitments made in this Privacy Policy as of the date of transfer.

E. With Your Consent

We may share your information in other ways with your explicit consent.

F. With Advertising and Data Partners (Opt-Out Available)

We may share or sell certain personal information — such as identifiers, usage data, and inferences drawn from your activity on the Platform — with advertising networks, data brokers, and marketing partners to deliver targeted advertising, measure ad performance, and support our business operations. This may constitute a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

We do not share financial account details, government IDs, or the content of private messages with advertising partners.

Your opt-out right: You may opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information at any time by emailing admin@friedum.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" or by adjusting your cookie/tracking preferences in your browser settings. California residents have additional rights — see Section 11.

5. AI Features and Your Data

Friedum™ offers AI-powered features including price estimation, virtual staging, photo analysis, lease translation, contract summarization, offer coaching, and an AI chat assistant. Here is how these features interact with your data:

  • Content you submit to AI features (such as questions you type into the AI assistant, photos you upload for analysis, or documents you submit for translation) is processed to generate a response
  • AI-generated outputs (price estimates, staging images, summaries, etc.) may be associated with your account for display and reference purposes
  • We may use anonymized or aggregated AI interaction data to improve our AI features over time. We will not use the specific contents of your queries to train third-party AI models without your consent
  • Virtual staging and photo enhancement outputs are stored in connection with your listing for as long as the listing is active on the Platform
  • AI outputs are generated by automated systems and may be inaccurate. They are not a substitute for professional advice. See Section 11 of our Terms of Use for the full AI disclaimer

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as pixels and local storage) to operate the Platform, remember your preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. We use the following categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required for the Platform to function (e.g., authentication session cookies). These cannot be disabled.
  • Functional cookies: remember your preferences (e.g., saved search filters, preferred currency) to improve your experience
  • Analytics cookies: help us understand how users interact with the Platform so we can improve it
  • Marketing cookies: may be used to deliver relevant advertising (only with your consent where required by applicable law)

You can control most cookie settings through your browser's privacy settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect Platform functionality. For more details, see our Cookie Policy.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Specifically:

  • Account data: retained while your account is active. After account deletion, we retain certain data for up to three (3) years to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud
  • Listing data: active listing data is retained for the life of the listing. After a listing is removed or deleted, summary listing data may be retained for up to three (3) years for legal and compliance purposes
  • Messages: message content is retained while both user accounts are active, and for a reasonable period thereafter for dispute resolution purposes
  • Transaction records: retained for at least seven (7) years for legal and accounting compliance
  • Analytics and logs: typically retained in aggregated or anonymized form and not subject to individual retention schedules
  • AI interaction data: individual query content is retained only as long as needed to generate your output and is not retained in identifiable form beyond sixty (60) days unless associated with your stored listings or profile

9. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit using TLS/HTTPS
  • Encryption of sensitive data at rest
  • Access controls limiting who within Friedum™ can access personal information
